Journal register

Review the supported accounting journal with protocol and line numbers, document references, accounts, debits and credits for the selected company and period.

Read the accounting effect in document order

The Journal Register brings the supported accounting rows into a period-based report with protocol and line ordering. Review the document date, type, number, customer or supplier, account and debit or credit amount together. This is useful when an accountant needs a journal view rather than a sales-only or purchase-only list.

Use the register to investigate, not overwrite

The report represents the accounting effects of the supported source documents. If an amount or account appears wrong, inspect that source and the applicable posting workflow. For a single account, switch to the Account Ledger; for a formal period output, use the available paginated export rather than relying on the visible portion of a browser table.

What to know before you start

Report generation is not filing or legal preservation by itself. Review completeness, date scope and the local retention requirements with the responsible accountant.

Practical questions

Is the journal the right view for one account?

Use the Account Ledger when the question is account-specific; use the Journal Register for the broader document-ordered accounting view.

Can I fix an accounting entry by editing the report?

No. Correct the source transaction through the authorized operational workflow and allow reporting to synchronize.
