Fixed assets and depreciation
Register fixed assets, link eligible supplier bills, select available depreciation rules and review schedules, postings and disposal through a dedicated asset workflow.
Keep the asset separate from the purchase document
A supplier bill explains the purchase; the asset record explains the longer-lived item and its depreciation lifecycle. Register an asset manually or through the supported bill-to-asset workflow, with its identity and selected rule. Link the purchase evidence so future reviews can trace the asset back to the document that established its cost.
Review the schedule before recording depreciation
Available country rules support depreciation computation, pending-depreciation review and asset-register reporting. Computing a schedule and posting depreciation are different actions. The lifecycle also includes supported rule changes, suspension, resumption and disposal, preserving the asset's history instead of reducing it to a recurring journal-entry reminder.
What to know before you start
Capitalization policy and depreciation choices require accounting judgment. Automatic capitalization and background depreciation are opt-in settings, not assumptions applied to every bill.
Practical questions
Does every equipment bill become an asset automatically?
No. Eligibility and company configuration matter. Review the capitalization policy and explicitly enable supported automation if appropriate.
Is computing depreciation the same as posting it?
No. A computed schedule can be reviewed before the supported posting action records the financial effect.
