Production quality checks

Require quality evidence at the relevant manufacturing step and keep approval tied to the current operation rather than an unrelated or outdated inspection.

Put the checkpoint where the process needs it

Mark the relevant BOM process steps as requiring a quality check. During execution, the inspection refers to the actual operation being performed. The approval belongs to that operation state, so a check from another job or an earlier state cannot stand in for the evidence required to release current work.

Keep quality and quantity progress connected

Required approval participates in the rules for reporting and completing a step. A newer failure or an intervening operation change can require a fresh checkpoint rather than reusing an old pass. Completed execution evidence is protected, while later inspections can refer to the produced output. The record supports review without pretending that a checkbox is a quality certification.

What to know before you start

Quality requirements and acceptance decisions belong to your process. The feature does not claim industry certification, automatic laboratory integration or a universal sampling policy.

Practical questions

Can an old passing check authorize new work?

Only the required current operation evidence applies. Stale, unrelated, failed or disabled checks do not release the step.

Does every production step need inspection?

Configure required checks on the relevant process steps in the BOM. The mandatory material-pick step is a different stock-control activity.
